Eros of Our Own showcases works from 11 artists spread around the world and seeks to explore fandom culture as a site where queer-feminist counterpublics find strategies of resistance as well as unapologetic ways of recognising ourselves and each other. Traversing between worlds, we collectively re-write, self-identify, co-create, deconstruct heteronormative discourses, and reconstruct power dynamics.

The title of the exhibition references the fanart platform ‘Archive of Our Own/AO3’ and Andre Lorde’s ‘Uses of the Erotic’. Guided by their spirits, Eros of Our Own performs as a space where eros can be embodied and resonated through the shared language of fandom ❤
